Terms of Use
Last updated: June 24, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Code Slice LLC(“Surveii,” “we,” “us”) governing your access to and use of the Surveii website, web dashboard, mobile applications, and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service.
- If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
The Service
Surveii provides software that turns a customer’s existing cameras into AI-generated events, alerts, dashboards, and analytics. Detection runs on an on-premise appliance; the cloud dashboard and mobile apps present events, snapshots, short clips, and metrics. Cameras, detection rules, zones, and enabled modules are configured by your provider and presented to you read-only.
License to use the Service
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your internal business or personal use. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or create derivative works of the Service except as permitted by law.
Acceptable use and your responsibilities
You are responsible for using the Service lawfully. You agree that you will:
- Comply with all applicable laws, including video-surveillance, privacy, data-protection, labor, and consent laws in your jurisdiction.
- Obtain and maintain all rights, consents, notices, and signage required to operate cameras and monitor the areas you cover.
- Use the Service only for legitimate safety, security, and operations purposes — never to harass, stalk, discriminate against, or unlawfully monitor any person.
- Not upload unlawful content, infringe others’ rights, attempt to breach security, or disrupt the Service.
- Be responsible for the placement of cameras and the lawful basis for any monitoring you direct.
Not a life-safety or emergency service
The Service is a monitoring and alerting aid. It does not guarantee that every event will be detected or prevented, and it is not a life-safety system, alarm-monitoring service, or emergency-response service. Do not rely on the Service for emergencies. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services or authorities directly.
Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (for example, cloud hosting, authentication, push notifications, email, and AI processing) and may integrate with third-party systems you choose to connect. We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.
Fees and subscriptions
Some features are offered free of charge; others may require a paid plan or agreement. Where fees apply, they will be described at sign-up or in your separate agreement with us, and are non-refundable except as required by law. We may change pricing on notice for future billing periods.
Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and trademarks, is owned by Code Slice LLC and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you no rights to our trademarks or branding. You retain ownership of your data; you grant us the limited rights needed to operate and provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Feedback
If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use them to improve the Service, without obligation to you.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT IT WILL DETECT OR PREVENT ANY PARTICULAR EVENT.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CODE SLICE LLC AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR FOR LOSSES ARISING FROM THEFT, INJURY, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR USD 100 IF YOU PAID NOTHING.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Code Slice LLC from claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right, including claims relating to your camera deployment and monitoring.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. On termination, the licenses granted to you end; sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify the Service or these Terms. When we make material changes to these Terms, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Code Slice LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located there will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
